| TIPS - TRADE AND TECHNOLOGICAL INFORMATION PROMOTION SYSTEM |
In the 1990s, the UNDP-TIPS project constituted a large network for information sharing oriented to small and medium enterprises of developing countries. It was a pioneering initiative that offers easy access to business opportunities through information in various languages, to countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America.
The information on technology offers and requests, business opportunities and services of enterprises from various sectors of the economy includes: agriculture, food processing, biotechnology, building and construction, tannery, energy, packaging, electronics, mining, textiles, tourism and transportation.
TIPS was created in 1986 with the assistance of the Government of Italy and, later on, the Governments of Austria and The Netherlands. Some 200,000 small and medium enterprises have participated directly in the activities of the TIPS network. |

| WINNER - WOMEN INTO THE NEW NETWORK FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL REINFORCEMENT |
For a decade, WINNER worked for the economic empowerment of women from various regions of the world, especially those from the marginalized socio-economic sector. It is aims to create new capacities in entrepreneurship with the use of ICT Information and Communication to develop business Competitiveness, thereby helping reduce gender disparity.
Some 17,000 women entrepreneurs have been benefited by the WINNER in terms of information services and knowledge of the use of ICT in their enterprises. This has resulted in generating livelihood opportunities for these women who now can promote their products in the marketplace, enter into cooperation with one another and also their counterparts in other regions. Further, this has allowed these women to improve income by having access to new markets in the global economy.
WINNER has been supported with funds from the Government of Italy, UNIFEM and UNDP. |

| ALPYMES - INFORMATION SOCIETY FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES OF LATIN AMERICA. |
The EC-UNDP AL-PYMES project aimed to develop the capacities of small and medium enterprises in Latin America, in the context of international business partnership, particularly in the use of information for decision-making in management and for engaging in B2B and B2C electronic commerce. More than 2,000 Latin American small and medium enterprises have modernized their business management practices, enlarged their sphere of activities and gained access to new markets. From the use of the services of AL-PYMES, specifically on capacity building in ICT for their businesses, product promotion and business visibility. Through the Internet, they received business alerts online which facilitate their access to information on business opportunities. AL-PYMES started its operations in year 2000 with financial assistance from the European Commission and participating of 18 countries from Latin America and Caribbean.

| OTHER PROJECTS |
DEVNET has developed numerous projects with national and regional organizations, both from the public and private sectors. Among them are:
- SAI: System of Information Access of the AL-INVEST Program of the European Commission that connects three different networks of operators of Europe and Latin America (Eurocenters, Cooperation and Subcontracting).
- The Information and Communication Virtual Center of the United Nations in Uruguay.
- The institutional web sites of the Delegations of the European Commission in Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay, Venezuela;
- The web site of the Association of Oil and Natural Gas Companies in Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL);
- The Industrial Information Network of Venezuela.
- The web site of the Panamerican Federation of the Dairy Industry (FEPALE)
